چکیده

The purity, Tr(q), measures how pure or mixed a quantum state q is. It is well known that quantum dynamical semigroups that preserve the identity operator (which we refer to as unital) are strictly purity-decreasing transformations. Here, we provide an almost complete characterization of the class of strictly purity-decreasing quantum dynamical semigroups. We show that in the case of finite-dimensional Hilbert spaces, a dynamical semigroup is strictly purity-decreasing if and only if it is unital, while in the infinite dimensional case, unitality is only sufficient. 2005 Elsevier B.V. Effect of random telegraph noise on entanglement and nonlocality of a qubit-qutrit system

We study the evolution of entanglement and nonlocality of a non-interacting qubit-qutrit system under the effect of random telegraph noise (RTN) in independent and common environments in Markovian and non-Markovian regimes. We investigate the dynamics of qubit-qutrit system for different initial states. These systems could be existed in far astronomical objects. A monotone decay of the nonlocalit...

Quantum Markovian Dynamics: Invariant Subsystems, Attractors, and Control

We characterize the dynamical behavior of continuous-time, Markovian quantum systems with respect to a subsystem of interest. Markovian dynamics accurately describes a wide class of open quantum systems of relevance to quantum information processing, subsystem encodings offering a general pathway for faithfully representing quantum information. We provide explicit linear-algebraic characterizat...

Bayesian feedback versus Markovian feedback in a two-level atom

Quantum feedback arises when the environment of an open quantum system is deliberately engineered so that information lost from the system into that environment comes back to affect the system again. Typically the environment is large and would be regarded at least in part as a classical system. In the case where the system dynamics are Markovian in the absence of feedback, the information lost...

Quantum semi-Markov processes.

We construct a large class of non-Markovian master equations that describe the dynamics of open quantum systems featuring strong memory effects, which relies on a quantum generalization of the concept of classical semi-Markov processes. General conditions for the complete positivity of the corresponding quantum dynamical maps are formulated. The resulting non-Markovian quantum processes allow t...

Ehrenfest dynamics is purity non-preserving: a necessary ingredient for decoherence.

We discuss the evolution of purity in mixed quantum/classical approaches to electronic nonadiabatic dynamics in the context of the Ehrenfest model. As it is impossible to exactly determine initial conditions for a realistic system, we choose to work in the statistical Ehrenfest formalism that we introduced in Alonso et al. [J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 44, 396004 (2011)]. From it, we develop a new ...
